Where to find forecast of building materials prices?

I work in a construction company and today my boss just threw an assignment on my desk. I am supposed to find out price forecast of building materials such as Steel Rebars, Ready Mixed Concrete etc.

I am v v new in the construction industry, barely 2 months, and I really have no clue where to start. I’ve already found analyst reports on BMI on commodities (steel) but that’s not what he’s looking for.
Someone help me pls?

The home is build from 100% RECYCLED material. The materilal DOES NOT use wood, concrete, steel.NO Mildew,Mold,Terrmites. Can NOT punch a HOLE through it shooting with a magnum or a double barrel gun.SOUND proof is like a recording studio.THERMAL conductivity to keep the right temp.Does not BURN,yes you read it right.Build many times over to beat the standard set resistance to Earthquakes, Hurricanes. Costs the SAME PRICE as a pre-fab.,or a stick home, but is build like a regular home. This is NOT a pre-fab.,or a stick home. Can be build in AS LITTLE AS SIX MONTHS.

Is the steel beam frame of an "on-frame" modular home just as sturdy as an "off-frame" modular foundation?

My family and I are about to purchase our first home! We decided to go with a modular home because of the lower price and quick build time (we really wanted to take advantage of the ,000 first-time buyers tax credit). I’ve done a bunch of online research and I’ve got a pretty good idea of how lenders, appraisers, etc. feel about modular homes (especially on-frame modulars). That aside, I would like to know if there is any difference in the quality of an "on-frame" steel frame and an "off-frame" foundation. I tell ya, looking at those huge steel beams, I can’t help but think they would be sturdier than a permanent foundation. I mean, if the foundation were to shift (hypothetically speaking of course), those steel beams sure aren’t going to bend. What do you guys think? I would especially love to hear from someone who has lived in a modular home for a while. Any info, however, is greatly appreciated.

Does anyone see the advantages of a steel building?

I was looking to put up a new building and looked at steel first. Crazy expensive. So I looked at wood and block which are still perceived as more costly and found they were about half the price! I think I would rather work with wood or block having put up a steel building in the past. Steel has long heavier pieces with sometimes very sharp edges. The panels have to be put up on a windless day and the screws are a pain. They get hot from having to bore into the metal, they tumble, they eat up battery and kick out shavings like crazy. Had to have a piece surgically removed from my eye and I had been wearing goggles.
They are also very drafty and, therefore, dusty, hard and expensive to insulate. I went through 25 gals of propane in way less then a month heating a 24x30x12 foot shop. And the noise insulation is crap as well.
So, why are people still buying steel?
Post first answer.
I did and do build right. Steel has an R factor of not. As for lasting, there is a 300 year old schoolhouse still standing here in America and the Roman Colosseum still stands even after most of it’s materials were stolen for the Vatican. Realistically, anything I build will out last me so I’m still looking to a good answer.

What percentage of houses are made from wood?

(Anyone have a % or source)

Arent almost all houses typically framed in wood? Why?

Could houses be framed in steel instead? if so would it be a large price difference? and what would the benefits be?

Lastly, What are some other building material/methods that could be used? (the only one that comes to mind is brick/stone)

Steel Shed VRS Vinyl coated Steel Shed????

what is better? I run a rescue for shelter dogs and im buying a building to house them in. Kinda like a small animal shelter setting with Kennels comeing off it.

I was going to use a space heater or heat lamps to keep them warm. Would the steel shed work or would there be no way to keep it even alittle warm. Most of these dogs have spent their whole life outside so they have their winter coats, But I think they still need to be warm. Vinyl coated shed will be double the price. and this is already coating ALOT with concrete and kennels.
