I am building a new computer, please add any suggestions?

I’m building it for some light gaming and other practical uses for school and what not.

these are my current components, my budget is around 550 for the desktop itself.

Kingston HyperX Blu 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3 SDRAM 1333MHz 240-pin Desktop Memory
(already bought)

HIS H687FN1GD Radeon HD 6870 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.1 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card

BIOSTAR TZ68A+ LGA 1155 Intel Z68 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard

COOLER MASTER eXtreme Power Plus RS-550-PCAR-E3 550W ATX12V V2.3 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready Power Supply

COOLER MASTER Elite 430 RC-430-KWN1 Black Steel / Plastic Computer Case

And I still need to get a HD, probably 1TB waiting for prices to drop for Black Friday.

What do you think of this current set-up and is it good enough or would I do better with more power?

Also, do I need a second fan for my case? This one only comes with 1.

Thank you!
Oh, and my CPU is the i5 2500K

Structural Engs: Why are bridges not made of a stainless steel?

We all see steel bridges, and most all of them are covered with large patches of rust. Which means a gradual weakening, and lots of maintenance problems. Are there no grades of steel that are relatively rust proof and suited for this use? Even if a bit weaker and thus needing more structure?

And if so, what would be the relative price difference? My point is, would it not be cheaper in the long run to build bridges with rust proof material and reduce the maintenance costs?

A similar question revolves around the Rbar used in concrete structures.
I’m not sure that doubling the capital cost of the bridge and slashing the maintenance costs is not a good deal. Consider that a bridge should be good for 100 years, and calculate the costs over that time. But the politicians would never buy it.
I thought galvanizing didn’t last that long, as the zinc "sacrifices itself", but as it does that, it gets oxidized. When it’s all gone, no more protection.

Cheapest way to custom build an efficiency apartment sized home?

Rather than paying high interest on a mortgage, buying a not-so-maintanance-free wooden home or cheaply built manufactured home, or paying rent on an apartment that doesn’t translate into owned equity…
I would like to know the best options for building an efficiency apartment-sized home for under 000 (not including land cost) on my own land.

How would I get the materials (IE, cement/bricks/steel) to the land and how much of it can I learn to assemble myself (and, when I can, where can I find guides on how to do it)?

Also, what are the shipping costs and where can I find suppliers? Is building a stronger/purely cement house tricker and, if so, how (also, how does it differ from, say, building a cement pool)?

Nix a house purchase due to polybutylene plumbing?

My mother-in-law is looking to buy a house built in 1985 with some polybutylene. The owner of 9 years states "I have not had any leaks or problems with the pipes myself. I believe all the overhead water pipes in the house are steel so maybe the house is already partially retrofitted. I do know that at least the pipes under the sinks are poly". The house is otherwise perfect – much better than others in the price range. The house is on a slab in New Mexico. Is this that major an issue?
